Inside Sales Associate

If you answered yes to many of the questions above, we want to talk to you!  Penn Foster, the largest provider of online and blended learning workforce development solutions in the country, is seeking dynamic individuals to join our business development growth team as an Inside Sales Associate.  This is an inside sales role with career pathway opportunities to outside sales roles for high performing individuals who consistently exceed goals and expectations over time.

Our Inside Sales Associates perform these tasks regularly: 

  • Execute discrete, outbound calling campaigns to key target contacts on behalf of Penn Foster (You will be hitting the phones – hard!)
  • Primary goal will be to create new sales opportunities and to set up meetings (either face to face or over the phone) for Penn Foster’s Enterprise sales team
  • Achieve Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly targets for volume of phone calls, number of appointments confirmed and new sales pipeline created
  • Drive attendance to Penn Foster webinars, conference panels, and other events
  • Serve as “Chief First Impression Officer” by quickly responding to inbound lead-gen opportunities developed through marketing efforts
  • Research target industries and organizations to best position Education & Training solutions from Penn Foster
  • Increase the overall pipeline of opportunities at the “top of the funnel” for Penn Foster
  • Become an expert in and maintain with 100% accuracy activities, opportunities and pipeline status; spearhead suggestions for improvement to Penn Foster’s use of
  • Synthesize feedback from prospects and research to provide market insights

Our ideal candidate has the following background & experience:

  • 2-3 years’ experience working in an office or professional environment
  • Telesales or telemarketing experience preferred
  • Non-traditional Education experience desired, but not required
  • An ability to remotely network within an organization, uncovering new opportunities and to strengthen Penn Foster’s relationships at all levels
  • Propensity to learn new industries quickly as outbound calling campaigns will rapidly cycle through different types of companies with different economics and business models
  • Boston based, with ability to travel, when needed, to visit HQ in Scranton, PA and clients across the United States. A valid driver’s license is also required.
  • Organized, accustomed to working with a CRM tool (, Dynamics,) and use to achieving and exceeding performance metrics
  • Ability to speak Spanish desired, but not required
