Digital Assets Assistant Manager

This position is responsible for the day to day organization, maintenance, archiving, and distribution of all content-related digital assets. This position is responsible for troubleshooting student issues from both the content development and learning platform lenses. This position is also responsible for assisting in determining appropriate metadata structure and tags. The Digital Assets Assistant Manager reports to the Digital Assets Manager and is one of two technical staff in the Product Development department.

Essential Functions

  • Troubleshoot student issues from both the content development and platform lens.
  • Solve issues through creative-problem solving and open and collaborative communication.
  • Support effective working relationships with the content development team, as well as cross-functional working relationships.
  • Assist content development with troubleshooting and reporting learning management system issues and manage support relationship with engineering and platform teams.
  • Assist Digital Assets Manager in management of Product Development relationship with engineering and platform partners by entering and reporting on status of support tickets.
  • Complete online exam revisions and perform quality assurance checks for online materials, courses, exams, and bills of materials.
  • Assist IT with installing and troubleshooting Product Development software.
  • Prepare and deploy streaming versions of audio/visual files, including course videos and recorded lectures and webinars.
  • Create, export, and process web PDFs, online supplements, and content files.
  • Assist the Digital Assets Manager in maintaining the supplement system and approving the list of course components for inventory.
  • Drive continuous improvement around the process and operations of digital asset management by making recommendations to update system and/or workflow processes as required by the needs of the business.
  • Work with Digital Assets Manager to learn new programs and platform and train Product Development team
  • Assist in determining appropriate metadata structure and tags and assign appropriate metadata for assets to ensure accurate usage.
  • Assist Digital Assets Manager and engineering and platform partners in management and implementation of various platform projects, including content migration, ingestion, and convergence.


Skills & Abilities

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required

Experience: Background in Information Management. Proven experience in being highly organized and process driven. Experience in working and communicating with engineering teams. Project Management experience preferred.

Computer Skills: Experience with fully online learning management systems and various business, desktop publishing, and instructional design software. HTML coding experience required. LaTeX coding experience. Knowledge of file formats (print, digital, video). Strong technical aptitude. Experience with Jira strongly preferred. Knowledge of learning tool interoperability (LTI), common cartridge, and SCORM compliance desirable.
