What You Will Be Doing

As a Financial Analyst at Penn Foster, your primary job responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the annual planning and forecasting processes
  • Developing and refining reporting dashboards and analytical tools that measure financial performance and provide actionable insights to the business by partnering collaboratively with business owners
  • Performing monthly variance analysis of actual results to budget
  • Providing financial reports and analyses that drive revenue and expense improvement and identifies gaps and opportunities.
  • Ensuring financial integrity of FP&A data and analytics environment and managing road map for reporting improvements for continuous improvements to reporting
  • Participating in the financial modeling of longer-term strategic projections
  • Analyzing product line performance and profitability trends
  • Ad hoc analytical projects for the CFO and Senior Manager, FP&A that drives value for the business

 

Job Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of post-undergrad professional experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or Economics
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with financial accounting systems (JDE) and business intelligence software products (SAP Business Objects etc.) is a plus
  • Excellent financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Highly organized, detail oriented nature a must
  • Pride in accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated analytical proficiency in data research and interpretation
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across organization
  • Intellectual curiosity with an innate interest in learning about, and improving, both the company and one’s self
  • Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressure
  • Ability to own projects and/or areas of responsibility with limited ‘hand-holding’
  • Composure and confidence to interact with executive team
  • High energy, humble team player, strategic and creative thinker, “get it done” attitude

Physical Job Requirements and Demands

The Financial Analyst can expect to sit for lengthy periods of time in an office environment and may occasionally need to lift/carry up to 15lbs.
